SMM Panel Glossary (2026): 30 Terms Explained in Plain English
Updated October 2026 · Compiled by the team behind SafeSMM (safesmm.net), an SMM panel for creators and resellers.
SMM panels use a lot of short words that nobody explains: refill, drip-feed, partial, start time, API key. New buyers lose money simply because they read a service description the wrong way. This glossary explains the terms you will see on almost any panel, grouped by topic.
Tip: before ordering any service, find four things in its description: start time, speed, refill period and minimum quantity. If one of them is missing, ask support first.
Basics
- SMM panel
- A website where you buy social media services such as views, likes, followers or members, usually in bulk and at wholesale prices. Most panels resell services from several providers through one dashboard.
- Service
- One specific product on the panel, for example "YouTube views, 30-day refill". Each service has its own ID number, price, limits and rules.
- Rate (price per 1000)
- Panels show prices per 1,000 units. An order of 500 at a rate of 2.00 costs 1.00.
- Min / Max
- The smallest and largest quantity one order can have. Very small test orders are only possible on services with a low minimum.
- Link
- The public URL or username the service is delivered to. A panel should never need your password.
- Balance
- The money in your panel account. Orders are paid from the balance, and refunds for canceled or partial orders go back to it.
Delivery terms
- Start time
- How long after ordering the delivery usually begins, for example "0 to 2 hours". It is an estimate, not a promise.
- Speed
- How many units are delivered per day once the order starts. Slower speeds often look more natural.
- Drip-feed
- A setting that splits one order into several smaller runs with a pause between them. You choose the quantity per run, the number of runs and the interval in minutes. Useful for views and likes on short videos and Reels. Plan your runs with our free drip-feed calculator.
- Runs and interval
- The two drip-feed fields. Five runs of 1,000 with a 60-minute interval means 5,000 total, delivered as 1,000 every hour.
- Retention
- How long delivered views are watched, or how well followers stay over time. High retention usually costs more.
- Drop
- When some delivered units disappear later, often after a platform cleanup. Drops can happen on any service. This guide covers practical ways to reduce drops.
Refill and refunds
- Refill
- The panel tops up drops for a set period after the order completes, for example 30 days. You usually press a Refill button or open a ticket.
- No refill
- A cheaper service where drops are not replaced. Fine for one-time boosts, risky for long-term numbers. See refill vs no-refill explained.
- Refill period
- The number of days refills are available. After it ends, drops are not covered.
- Refund
- Money returned to your panel balance when an order is canceled or only partly delivered.
Order statuses
- Pending
- The order is accepted but has not started yet. If it stays pending for a long time, check the link and privacy settings first. Common causes are listed in why an order stays pending.
- In progress / Processing
- Delivery has started and is running.
- Completed
- The full quantity was delivered.
- Partial
- Only part of the order was delivered. The undelivered part is refunded to your balance.
- Canceled
- The order was stopped before delivery, usually because of a wrong or private link, and the money is returned to your balance.
Payments
- Add funds / Deposit
- Topping up your balance. Most panels have a minimum deposit.
- USDT TRC20 and BEP20
- The same stablecoin on two different networks (Tron and BNB Smart Chain). Always send on the network the deposit page shows. Sending on the wrong network is the most common reason a deposit does not arrive.
- Binance Pay
- A transfer inside Binance using a Pay ID, with no network fee. Here is a step-by-step guide to adding funds with Binance Pay.
- Auto payment
- A deposit method that credits your balance automatically after the payment is confirmed, without manual approval.
Reseller terms
- Reseller
- Someone who buys from a panel and sells to their own clients at a markup, often through their own website or panel. More on how a reseller panel works.
- API v2
- The standard way one panel or app talks to another. Common actions are add (place an order), status, services, refill, cancel and balance. The SMM panel API guide shows how it works.
- API key
- A secret code that lets your software use your panel account. Treat it like a password and never share it publicly.
- Service ID
- The number of a service in the panel. Resellers map their own products to these IDs when using the API.
- Affiliate program
- A referral link that pays you a commission when people you invite add funds. For example, SafeSMM runs an affiliate program with a 5% commission.
Still unsure about a term? Ask the panel's support before you order. A clear answer is a good sign; a vague one is a reason to wait.
